Langtang Valley |
The Langtang valley is located just south
of the Tibetan border - a narrow valley sandwiched
between the main Himalayan range and lesser
snow-bound mountains to the south. It has a
lot to offer: lovely Tamang and Sherpa villages,
Buddhist gompas and pristine nature. |

Day 01 : Kyangjin Gompa ( 3840m) Starting from Ghoratabala
into wide alpine country reach the large village of
Langtang, a Bhotia settlement in about 3 hours. Hnolher
3 hours leads to Kyangjin Gompa.
Day 02 : Langshisha Move east wards to Langshisha glacier,
which may take upto 7 hours. From here, you can see
Langtang Lirung Peak (7246m) and the Ganesh Himal (7406m)
to the west. And to the south, there are views of Ganjala
Himal (5864m) and the High pass (5132m) that leads to
Helumbu.
Day 03 : Return back to Kyangjin Gompa.
Day 04 : Fly out to Kathmandu in the morning. |

Annapurna Sanctuary |
The subtropical zones of the Annapurna region
are clothed in schema and chestnut forests while
the temperate zone features evergreen oaks and
hemlock.
30 different species of rhododendron can be
seen in spring, lending a splash of white, pink,
yellow and mauve to red. |

Day 01 : Kuldi Ghar (3440 m) - The trek descends
from Ghandruk and offers good views of the upper Modi
Knola valley. The trail passes through the valleys of
Chomrong (1918 m) that lies at the base of Hiunchuli
(6441 m). Trek time is 7 h.
Day 02 : Annapurna South Base Camp (4237 m) - The trek
climbs to Hinku cave. Then heads north-west to the camp.
The Annapurna BC is situated between Annapurna I (8091
m) and Hiunchuli (6441 m). It is surrounded by Annapurna
III (7525 m), Annapurna I, Annapurna South (7219 m)
and Macchapuchare (6993 m). Enjoy the view of these
majestic mountains.
Day 03 : Return back to Kuli Ghar.
Day 04 : Fly out to Kathmandu in the morning. |

Ghorepani Pass |
The route offers imposing views of Dhaulagiri
and the Annapurnas.
From March to the end of summer, rhododendron
and magnolia forests are abloom in a burst of
glorious colors. The area is also rich in bird
life. Ghandrung is the second largest Gurung
village in Nepal. |

Day 01 : Ghorepani (2874 m) - The first day starts
with a short trek to Poon Hill (3194 m) and back.
Day 02 : Tadapani (2874 m) - Trek north about 4 km
to the Deorali Pass (3103 m). Then descend through rhododendron
forest to reach Tadapani.
Day 03 : Ghandrung (1920 m) - Descend through wooded
area and reach Ghandrung which is a large Gurung village.
The Annapurna range and Macchapuchare offer great mountain
views.
Day 04 : Fly out to Kathmandu in the morning. |

Manang Valley |
A better part of this Tibetan-style village
is concealed behind a massive rock outcrop.
The houses here are stacked one atop another.
The gompa perched high on a crag has an outstanding
display of antique icons, thangkas and manuscripts.
The Managis are of Tibetan origin and are Buddhists.
A trip to Bhojo Gompa, on the ridge between
Braga and Manang will prove extremely rewarding.

Day 01 : Pisang (3335 m) - The trek goes through
Brathang and ascends to Pisang.
Day 02 : Manang Bhot (3500 m) - Travel through forest
to a small ridge at 3445 m. The upper Manag valley can
be seen stretching into the distance. Descending, the
path passes Hongde (3415 m). Then the trail passes Sabje
Khola and Braga before Manang Bhot is reached. Manang
Bhot is a large village situated across a glacier descending
from Tarke Kang (Glacier Dome) and Gangapurna (7454
m).
Day 03 : Return back to Hongde.
Day 04 : Fly out to Kathmandu in the morning. |

Mustang - Lo Manthang |
Mustang is in the western zone of Nepal and
almost all of its northern half projects into
Tibet, while the southern half is bordered by
the three districts Dolpo, Myagdi and Manang.

Fly in to Kagbeni early in the morning.
Day 01 : Eklobhatti (3650 m) - The trek goes through
Tangbe, Chusang, Chele and Samsar before reaching Eklobhatti.
Day 02 : Tsarang (3500 m) - Trail proceeds and passes
Giling and Ghami on the way to Tsarang. The area is
mainly populated by Manngis, an ethnic group whose language,
culture and traditions are almost prely of Tibetan origin.
Day 03 : Lo Manthang (3700 m) - About 5 h trek take
you to Lo Manthang. The countryside in and around Lo
Manthng has strikes similar to the Tibetan plateau with
its rolling hills eroded by the incelement winds. Houses
and temples are made from stone and sun-bakd mud bricks.
You cannote fail to notice the city wall and four-storied
palace of Lo Manthang. The religion followed is Tibetan
Buddhism.
Day 04 : Fly out to Kathmandu in the morning. |
