Himalayan Downhill Dream

A one day tour: Forget the uphills! A downhill dream ride descending more than 2800ft, starting from 7100ft (2164m) with glorious mountain vista’s from Nagarkot.

Morning hotel pickup, shuttle to Nagarkot for breakfast for a taste of the ‘pick of the peaks’…… then mountain bike on sealed roads through the terraced hills, fields & villages into Bhaktapur for a tour of this ancient Kingdom. Lunch in the Taudodi Square and safely returned to your hotel with your certified “I biked the Himalayas - Nepal” in hand.

Kingdoms & Mountain Top Retreats

A 3-day cycling program after arrival in Kathmandu, with 3-days of biking which includes an optional rest day or an add on cycling day in Nagarkot to explore the forest trails in the lap of the Himalaya’s.

This is for the recreational to intermediate cyclist, those that have some biking experience and interested in moderate trails, generally off-road and quiet paved sections & seeing the major sights & sites of Kathmandu Valley.

It includes the historic ancient Kingdom of Bhaktapur, the hilltop retreat of Nagarkot at 2,000m with views of 8 of the top 10 peaks plus the treasured Hindu temple site known as Changu Narayan. All is via the rich cultural villages of the Valley.

The tour offers very comfortable accommodations and a support vehicle.

Day 01:  Depart Kathmandu City via Pashupartinath and the small villages around Thimi on route to Bhaktapur. Then onto Changu Narayan for lunch and the final climb onto Nagarkot  with overnight accommodations. (L/D)

Day 02: Depart Nagarkot for Dhulikel after a brief tour around this hill-station of Nagarkot then make a  sensational downhill all the way to Bhaktapur and Banepa on route  to Dhulikel . Sightseeing in the ancient Kingdom of Bhaktapur with lunch. Overnight accommodation in Dhulikel (B/L/D)

Day 03: From Dhulikel there is an endless choice of exciting trails. An ideal start is making the climb into Nammo Buddha on jeep track and then carry onto Panauti and wind our way through the southern valley rim of the Kathmandu Valley for a final descent into Lubhu and onto Kathmandu for the evening. Kathmandu Valley Rim Tour

This unique 10-day trip is a perfect blend stunning rural trails of the Kathmandu Valley.

It combines mountain biking in valley rim and Tibet border, with explorations of the valley crest of Kathmandu. This ride is a north to south traverse, and each of the passes rewards us with magnificent panoramas that stretch from Annapurna, Makalu, to Everest.

Throughout the tour, friendly people with bright smiles will enliven your journey.  This area is certainly less frequented and unspoiled, with very few westerners passing through - let alone mountain bikers.  Spectacular rides, which range from the awesome to the adventurous with thrilling descents and challenging climbs.

The Trails of Two Cities

This traverse of Nepal's two sister cities takes us on a fantastic off-road route linking - Pokhara and Kathmandu. You travel ancient village and trade routes passing through regions where the last 500 years have almost untouched the culture and landscapes. This tour is made for the off-road enthusiast.

Following your arrival in Katmandu, we limber up for our journey by taking a short tour of the ancient city of Katmandu before flying out to Pokhra. Situated beside the beautiful Phewa Tel Lake, Pokhra affords some of the most stunning views of the Annapurnas and Machhapuchhare ("Fish Tail" peak).

An additional day trip around the area will ensure that everything is in order before we start our journey, along the "trails of two cities", back to Katmandu. Our knobby tires touch only an unnoticeable fraction of sealed the road on this trip. So prepare yourself for what has been described as "off road Himalayan mountain biking at it's best."
Tracing an assortment of walking trails, old jeep trails and some technical single tracks, we make our way across remote territory that's seldom visited by westerners. Challenging ascents as well as some incredible descents combine to make this off-road biking a great mountain bikers dream.

Day 1 - Katmandu
You arrive in Katmandu and are met at the airport. The transfer to your hotel is arranged. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 2 - Katmandu
You set off on a biking tour of Kathmandu. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 3 - Katmandu- Pokhara
A short, 30 minutes flight takes you from Katmandu to Pokhra. You then set off on a biking tour of Pokhra. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 4 - Pokhra- Sarangkot- Pokhra
You are off on a circular day tour to Sarangkot. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

Day 5 - Pokhra- Begnas Tal
An exhilarating day of biking. You reach Begnas Tal where you spend the night at a camp.

Day 6 - Begnas Tal-Kalasti
Start off from Begnas Tal. Take in the spectacular scenery. Pass through villages where time has stood still. Overnight at camp in Kalasti.

Day 7 - Kalasti-Dumre
An eventful day of biking - with some challenging ascents and descents. The day's trail ends at Dumre where you camp for the night.

Day 8 - Dumre-Gorkha
You bike out of Dumre. The route challenges your skill and stamina. The ride ends at Gorkha. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 9 - Gorkha
Rest day in Gorkha. Rest, unwind or opt for a sightseeing tour. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 10 - Gorkha-down the Buri Gandaki Valley
Starting out from Gorkha, you pedal down the Buri Gandaki Valley. Overnight at a camp.

Day 11 - Kakani
From your camp at the base of the Buri Gandaki Valley, you head for Kakani. The trip takes you to the edge of the Katmandu Valley. Overnight at a lodge.

Day 12 - Kakani-Katmandu via Budhanilkantha Temple
The bike ride to Katmandu takes you past the famous Budhanilkantha Temple. You spend the night at a hotel.

Day 13 - Katmandu
Rest day in Katmandu. You have the option of going sightseeing. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 14 - Katmandu
It's the end of a tough, satisfying adventure. You are transferred to the airport in time for the flight out.
